Spot the solar panels?

How difficult would it really be for developers or builders wherever they be to hook up with solar panel suppliers or solar energy providers to install rooftop solar as a standard feature?
Just imagine even one hundred residences at any one time, what a difference it could make with each rooftop solar array providing approximately half of each home’s electrical needs.
The smart energy company could own and maintain the solar arrays for a flat monthly fee for a number of years or the homeowners could buy the panels outright. Prices are coming down but uptake is slow when there is no incentive from state or federal bodies. So, what about it those in the solar power sector?
